Human Trafficking Education for Teachers

Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the world, and children—especially middle and high school students—are among its primary targets. Traffickers exploit vulnerabilities, using deception, manipulation, and even social media to recruit and control their victims. Without proper education, students may not recognize the warning signs until it’s too late.

By integrating human trafficking prevention education into schools, we empower students with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their peers. Prevention education helps students understand how traffickers operate, recognize grooming tactics, and safely seek help if they or someone they know is at risk. It also equips educators and school staff with the training to identify potential trafficking situations and intervene effectively.

Ignoring this crisis leaves young people vulnerable, but proactive education can disrupt traffickers' tactics, prevent victimization, and foster a culture of safety and awareness. Schools are on the front lines—it's time to ensure every student has the information they need to stay safe and free.
